The Laptop Millionaire Thought of the Day

I held a 7-day retreat earlier this month, and Ryan H. came along. Ryan came to my seminar in April 2009, he quit his job soon thereafter, and he started building his list. Thanks to article marketing, solo ads, and adswaps, within a short while he built up a list of 2,000 subscribers and he started making $2,000 a month. Now he has 25,000 subscribers, and by working just 2 hours per day he earns $10,000 to $15,000 a month. One of the key things he shared with us during the retreat, is the importance of having a daily routine. Doing a few key things every day in order to build your list. The first thing he does every morning is update his 'Tracking' spreadsheet with the previous day's number of optins and his sales number (i.e. 27 optins and $264 in sales). Following up from the retreat, I implemented some of Ryan's listbuilding suggestion for my own team. Our goal is to get 200 optins per day. ======================= So here is what we set up: ======================= - Fiverr account (free, but you pay $5 per gig) - Justretweet.com account (free, but you buy credits) – we’re getting great results from it; e.g. I paid $2.27 and got 146 clicks - YouTube account (free) - Ezinearticles.com account (free) - Onlywire.com account (free – we found it better than SocialMarker.com) - Tiny.cc account to create shortened URLs for us to track the number of clicks we get from Fiverr, Justretweet, and Solo Ads - TrafficGeyser account for videos ($97 a month - it distributes your videos to 40+ video sites) - submityourarticle.com account ($47 a month - articlebot.org is not working at the moment) - Safe-Swap.com account ($37 a month) ======================================= Here is our Daily Action List to build our list: ======================================= 1. Outsourcer #1 checks stats & updates our Dashboard spreadsheet (optins & sales & traffic to my blog), which she emails to me. 2. I write my daily newsletter and email it to my list (through Getresponse), inviting my subscribers to forward it to their friends (this also automatically updates my Twitter accounts) 3. Outsourcer #2 creates 1 video per day and uploads it first to YouTube, and then also uses TrafficGeyser to distribute it to 40+ video sites. 4. Outsourcer #1 buys 3 gigs per day on Fiverr or justretweet.com sending traffic to my optin pages (we’re getting significantly better results from justretweet.com at the moment, but we've also found great providers on Fiverr too). 5. Outsourcer #1 buys solo ads every week (e.g. on safe-swaps.com) 7. Outsourcer #3 uploads 2 articles per day on ezinearticles.com and also distributes them to 1,000+ article directories thanks to submityourarticle.com 8. Outsourcer #3 uses Onlywire.com to post our new daily content (articles + videos) on 40+ social bookmarking sites. We've just started rolling out this daily routine and we're getting 40 to 65 optins a day. Time to scale things up. ;-) What are YOU doing every day to build your list?
